At 39 I had a baby, six months after having him, i started having very strange symptoms, (belching, catching my breath, gas, bloating, upper right quadrant pain(liver is fine),you name it I had every diseases symptom)and 3 weeks ago,  My doctor told me I have (gerd). Im taking nexium everyday and gaviscon when needed(which is all the time it seems) I started having a new symptom, I noticed when lying down I feel like Im suffocating, so now i lie in an almost sitting position, I wanted to know if this thing can get bad enough to do some gum and teeth damage? I have swollen gums and a couple of sores today and I'm stil having the belching and catching my breath a bit but not as bad , seems to be going away gradually. I went through a series of test and xrays and all is fine , had swollen lymph nodes examined and checked out seems all is ok. can all this be caused by "The Gerd" alone?

I am new to this forum and hope you will forgive my lack of computer skills.  I am not very good at this.  I have had acid reflux for the last 6 years and have been on the purple pill every day since then. For the last year I have had to take 2 a day.  Lately I have had a "gurgling" in the back of my throat.  I would like to know if this is a latent side effect of having been on Nexiuum for so long.  I also experience pain in the upper middle of my back, like I have been "arching" my back while I sleep.  I also take Lunesta to sleep.  Does anyone out here have any ideas what or why this is happening?
