Hi, I have been diagnosed with chronic gastritis but the only pain I ever feel is a strong burning sensation (like someone's holding a lit match) in my throat area only. I've been on Nexium for almost 3 years and don't know what to do. I've been scouring every health foods store and books and articles to try to find a solution. I think it might be LPR, too, and I've heard of Aciphex. Does it work for you? Or do you still feel the burning even on the pills? I'm just as lost as you are and wish I had a solution.

Hello,
I'm sorry you're still having a difficult while on meds. Maybe, check in with doc, perhaps a different med could be more effective for you. I know you mention you're eating healthy, but are you avoiding the most commonly offending foods too?? Also, individuals have gotten much needed relief from watching carb intake, including myself. I love pasta, but it can sometimes make me pay for it later.

Hope you start to feel better soon.

Huggs,
Vanessa

Hi.

These are my feeling as well as mucus, burning in my throat, a ball in my throat.  I never get the burning in my chest.  I do get anxious and then all the symptoms get worse.  I see a specialist every month for the past 6 months.  It gotten a bit better but not 100% maybe 60%.  I been on Nexium as well.  Aciphex is gentler on my stomach.  I'm also taking probiotics twice a day and papaya enzyme.  It seems they are helping a bit.  I avoid all food that are acidic and sodas, I drink only water and camomile tea.  I also dont eat at night, my lasy meal is @ 6:00pm, adl I dont lay down 3 hours after i ate.  I'm in the process of reading Dr. Sarno's books.  I'll let you know if it helps(I'm not sure it will).  I just dont know what to do anymore.
