If the lump is caused by uncoordination with the movement of the esophagus, how is this solved?

Hey Friendlygal,  I never had a lump, but I was dx with a hypomotility disorder of the esophagus.  It was resolved with reglan, which forces the LES to contract properly.  Unfortunately, reglan is not a long-term drug--not sure what they do long-term for it?  I take PPIs and supplement with zantac.

elcamino, thanks for your post...I have no idea why I have such a terrible lump/swelling..

I am going to have my manometry results sent to me.  Reglan, prevacid, Nexium, protonix, Aciphex, Tagamet, etc. etc....NONE of these drugs worked for me!!!
