hi.

I just wanted to know that I am not alone. I have been diagnosed with lpr some weeks ago. I have to take prevacid 30 mg 2 times a day. I always thought that reflux was for old people or obese people. And here I am, healthy and young and I get this lpr thing. I am really mad over this.
I think that lpr was trigger because of stress (I have panic disorder) so I guess this is not a life sentence and if my anxiety gets better I will have less reflux but from what I real lpr is often chronic and often leads to surgery mad

Are there any young people here with lpr? I feel so bad and alone. confused

Hi there Jen,
Dont worry, I am 27 year old male with GERD and LPRD. I suffered from sore throat and lump like feeling in throat and hoarseness in morning due to acid coming up my throat. I very much over came all this by life style adjustment and by trying different medications. Just go online and search for information on GERD and LPRD and them adjust your food habits and lfe stylle accordingly and you will be ok.

Thank you, Raghu, for your encouragement.  I have terrible LPR and nothing I've tried has worked.  I am 34 (but I am told that I look much younger).  What has worked for you??

Nexium 40 mg, twice a day 30 min before meals along with diet and life style changes have cured my LPRD. Also try to get busy with work so that you can take of your mind from the throat pain. It took 3 months for me to relive from the symptoms, so dont worry stress will increase the reflux and worsen the situation. This is a simple problem which can be cured by diet and life style changes without any surgery for most of the patients. Good luck.

Raghu, that's awesome!  I definitely don't want to worry the person who posted when I speak of my situation.  Although nothing has worked to cure mine, it doesn't mean that other people are in the same situation.

I think that mine is just 10 times more severe.  Partly this is because I had heartburn untreated for at least a year (I had complained to doctors about pain in my chest and they didn't know it was heartburn).

It could be that I need to take my prevacid for 3 times a day. I have LPR and GERD.  And the doctor said that I have a severe condition.  I did all the things that you mentioned, but still, I have the same awful symptoms.
