I'm on only natural stuff and have stopped eating tomatoes or anything really acidic and my esophagus is starting to heal and doesn't hurt as badly. I went out of town this weekend and stayed in a nice hotel and couldn't help but pig out. I didn't have horrible heartburn at all. I had some burps and my stomach is still sore and bruised with what it has been through already, but I made it through the weekend. Last night I had steak, potatoes, bread, spinach, pecan pie with vanilla ice cream and was fine. No, I don't normally eat this way, lol!

My stomach and lower esophagul area is sore and I still hurt a bit, but I think it is getting better every day.

I'm hoping this means I'm healing and the acid reflux rebound is starting to get better and my stomach will heal and be back to normal.

How wonderful that you are feeling better and able to eat great food.

What is the natural stuff you are doing?  Id love to know that there is hope.

(I am going to a nutritionist and taking homeopathic remedies, vitamins, probiotics but no relief at all yet.  I am on a special bland diet and also taking Nexium, Zantac and Gaviscon.  I'm in serious pain, esp. in my throat.)

Halls, I am glad to hear that. My husband wants me to back off of taking my Protonix but I am scared of horrible reflux and don't want to. He thinks I am only taking a half of pill a day. I ate a bigger meal at lunch today than I am used to, a Burger King fish sandwich, and I have felt full in my gut since then. I've belched a few times, but believe it or not, I avoid anything tomato and spicy, including onions, even barbecue sauce and spaghetti sauce, but still on occasion have belching spells and gas. I'm hoping the full feeling I am having now is because I am used to eating less at every meal, and ate more than I am used to. I am not really uncomfortable. Thought after I had eaten that sandwich that the catch feeling in my side was trying to stir up but believe it or not, it didn't. I need to get out a super good belch though and it would relieve alot of that tightness out of my gut I am sure. I am sure the change of environment helped also. Hopefully it will help me if we still get to go to the panhandle of Florida this next weekend coming up. Not sure what Hurricane Dean is going to do.
