Hi, I've had stomach ache and nausea for the past 6 months.  I've had acid reflux and also sleep apnea, which has given me alot of anxiety, panic attacks and headaches.  At last I've managed to see a stomach specialist, even though I've had to pay to go private as my doctor wouldn't refer me.  He thinks it could be gastritus, caused by drinking, smoking, lack of exercise, not eating correctly etc.  In the past 6 months, I've pretty much stopped drinking alcohol, eating foods that could irritate my stomach, and taken up golf for exercise.

I think alot of it is stress related, I had a bit of a bad night last night with stomach, intestinal pain, and sleep apnea, and I'm worried a bit about the endoscopy I'm having in the next week or 2.

I'm hoping it is the acid reflux that is causing the apnea, my breathing does seem to become very shallow when falling asleep, so I hope its obstructive and not central, I don't know what I would do if I had to deal with sleep apnea for the rest of my life.

Has anybody here had a endoscopy recently in the UK ?  Can you share your experience please ?

I have had three of them in the USA and I am sure they are just as good there. They will not be so bad they reall did not hust me i was a little sore for one day nothing serious. It is not a bad idea to have this test, you can make sure your healthy and I am sure you will be, try licorice tea, no coffee as hard as this is it can be at least till you heal, then try everything you hear people saying on this site that is natural, Potters Acidosis the guy says is in the UK get some of that immediately since you are over there and tell us how it works, peppermint oil, these are natural safe things that work, do not eat right before bed , lie on your left side, lay of the booze and spicy foods and tomaote products for awhile.Good luck,

Its strange, I only eat veg, salad, chicken, tuna, potato, rice etc. and only have 1 coffee and don't eat anything else that can irritate it, including alcohol, but I do smoke. Sometimes my belly is bad, and I get pains to the left and down of my belly, and sometimes its not too bad, even though theres always an ache of some sort. I don't know what causes the difference in the aching, as I'm eating pretty much the same things all the time.
