Hi all, I am a regular on the crohn's board, but new here. I have had 18 months of dealing with intestinal problems, but just had my first upper scope for URQ pain. I was diagnosed with gastritis, but have never had GERD, just lots of pain. is this common and what will happen next? I am waiting for my biopsy results. thanks in advance! yp
48 y/o woman.  Diagnosed 4/06 after colonscopy, SBFT, CT-scan all showed crohns. 3 months later, after pred and remicade, all tests showed no crohns. In December had adhesions cut through a laparoscopy. Now just taking Glycolax, metamucil, and imipramine...living with pain, but doing ok.

Have you had your gall bladder checked with Ultrasound or Hida scan. It causes gas and that is what causes gastritis. GERD is no always painful. You can have silent GERD but it probably would have shown up on your endo if it was bad If they still can't figure out what it is after gall bladder, then get a full CT scan with contrast. If nothing shows up then it is probably just a functional problem like IBS.
