Hoping someone will know - complete novice w/this stuff.  Was on Allegra for 2 weeks for allergies and began getting dull pain left of breastbone.  Not too bad at first, but kept getting more frequent, more painful.  Dull, ache is how to best describe it.  No burning.  Stopped Allegra - ENT says it's heartburn and I should take pepcid, prilosic, etc.  for it.  It's been 48 hrs., but still no relief - the pain is very localized, seems worse when inactive (i.e. when I get in the car to drive), definitely not worse during activity.  Do have times when I don't feel it at all.  Otherwise healthy 39 year old, do 1 hr. cardio at least 4 times a week.  Is this heartburn?

Hello there Undarc...and welcome to healingwell.

I am sorry it took so long for someone to respond to you, the weekends are normally pretty slow, and Sundays are normally crazy for me. Anyway, I am glad you found us.

I am sorry you are not feeling so hot right now. I do not want to say that yes, you do have heartburn, because the fact that you are having the dull aching pain can be a little worrysome. I dont' want to scare you, but I personally would suggest you getting in to your doctor for a check. It is very possible you could be dealing with heartburn, as heartburn is not always a burning feeling, but you said you are not getting any relief with antacids. That is why I would suggest possibly getting looked at, better safe than sorry, in my opinion.

Please, feel comfortable to keep posting with us, and when you get back from the doctor, let us know how it goes.

I truly hope you get some relief soon.

Wishing you all the best.
