Hey Michelle...do be sure to let us know how your surgery goes.

I am not aware of any specific weight loss after the procedure. Of course you will be on a special diet for sometime, but, I haven't heard or read anything about specific weight loss.

I know others will be along with their experiences.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you hun!

I know reading old posts is sometimes a pain but there's some good info there including weightloss info. I lost about 7 in 4 weeks, I don't remember how much porcelain doll lost and I think it was nocough who lost 12 in 2 or 3 weeks.

TammyGrl0528:
FYI in case you get the question again 5-10 pounds is normal weight loss after the surgery per my surgeon.

Yes, Michelle you will lose some weight because of the lack of nourishment.  The day I had my nissen surgery at the hospital they weighed me at 124, then at my next visit about a week later I weighed about 115.  My next appointment is on the 28th and I don't think I have gained much weight maybe a pound or two since my appetite is returning but have to eat small portions.  Please go back and read our post-op thread and you will get more information as to what and how we ate post-op nissen fundoplication surgery, parts 1&2.  The first 2 1/2 weeks were tough because of the liquid diet and I was very weak, not hungry just weak.  Good luck but you will lose weight without a doubt....Barbara.....

Michelle,
I just had my Nissen done 4 weeks ago today. I think that I am down about 15 lbs since then. The diet is pretty strict at the beginning and I'm still not anywhere back to normal on that, so weight loss is a definate for everyone!

i lost 26 lbs over 1 yr. I have put back about 15. still only weigh 103. However, think surgery is becoming undone. I got undernourished at first and felt very weak. good luck

I didn't have the fundo "wrap," just a hernia repair, but I've lost around 15 pounds. Most of it on the first 2 weeks "clear liquid" diet my doctor had me on.
