Hello. My daughter is 11 yrs old. When she was 3 we found out she has psoriasis and nail pitting.
She has gone to a yearly check but nothing was really done for her - medications or creams because the Dr said psoriasis in children clears up as they get older.
Well this year after seeing her finger nails and a mosaic wart on the bottom of her feet he asked if she had any joint pain.
She said no. My husband said she complains about a stiff neck.
He recommended ibuprofen if there is pain because the nail pitting psoriasis is related to arthritis. He didn't seem alarmed or anything. BUT I was; she's only 11 and arthritis is painfull.
We wanted a referral to a rheumatologyst after some blood tests they said her her RF Quant is 21.4 and ANA screen is 2.39 (that seems a lot to me but I am not a doctor)
If anyone out there has arthritis and nail pitting...how long have you had it? Are you getting any help? I am so worried that she may end up with malformations - she's only 11 :( And the thought of her living in pain hurt my heart so deeply :'( - I need to find some hope... Rosa
