Hi all,

A few years ago, I was diagnosed with drug induced lupus. However, it's never gone away so I had an x-ray done a couple of weeks ago, and it shows damage that's linked to psoriatic arthritis in my foot. I'm wondering if I've had this all along and if it never was drug induced lupus. Anyhow, if it is PsA, it sure is painful!!! For those of you that have it, am I just a wimp, or is it really that painful? This current flare up in my foot has lasted for almost 3 months now and my previous episodes never lasted that long. It's very hard to remain patient with constant pain for so long. Please let me know if any of you have gone through this before. :(

It is painful! I have had foot/ankle/knee pain on and off for 25 years or so and it was never linked to my psoriasis which I have had since I was 18. Various blames were given by various doctors from wear and tear to badly fitting shoes but back then most GP's and me as well, seemed unaware of the link between the skin condition and the arthritis. Up until July this year that is how it stayed, I learn't to live with the flare ups and just took painkillers and got on with life. In July I had a bad flare up (still as bad today!!!)it started with a toe and then affected the whole of my left foot and left knee. Whilst the Psoriasis has all but gone away and has done for the last 7 years (I am 63 now) they have diagnosed Psoriatic Arthritis, finally after 30 odd years of on and off pain. They have prescribed Methotrexate (as this is to do with an overactive immune systems as is the skin condition) but to date I have not taken it as I am very concerned about the side effects
