Fill a sock with rice, then pop it in the microwave until it's warm. Because of the moisture in the rice, you'll get nice moist heat. Takes the place of the expensive heat wraps.
Also, if you don't have a firm lumbar cushion, try one of those. You can carry it with you for whatever chair you sit in. The firm support may help prevent the muscle spasms.
If you're having muscle spasms, talk to your doctor about
prescribing a muscle relaxant for bad days.
