I normally take Celebrex to help me cope with my aches and pains but I've had to nix it for a little while because it was affecting my other health condition (Uc). So in the meantime, I am one aching mess! I take Tylonel Arthritis and it helps but only marginally. But lately my knuckles of both hands have been aching and throbbing. The knuckles of my right hand have been getting red, not swollen though. Whenever one finger acts up and gets very sore I go in for cortisone injections but what can be done for sore knuckles?

Have you tried paraffin wax treatments? I find these to really help with the pain and stiffness. My hand therapist first introduced me to these. I got my own system for use at home.

I feel your pain, Sherry. Heat is the only thing I've found - sometimes I take one of those therma-wrap things and wrap it around my fingers while I'm relaxing.

My rheumy put me on Mobic; he said it doesnt' seem to cause digestive problems as often. Maybe you could ask about it?

Oh thanks for reminding me Ides! I have one of them too but it's been put away in the closet. I just may have to dig it out :)

Thanks Judy, I will ask my doc about Mobic. I remember when the ortho put my husband on that. He had to stop taking it because it made his ankles swell for some reason, the swelling went down when he stopped.

I have one of those warm wax systems at home to use when my hands hurt a lot. I also use those thermacare wraps for the wrist/hands. Do you have some sort of inflammatory arthritis? I ask because my knuckles turn red and are very painful...hard to drive, open jars, etc. Rheumy says I have inflammatory osteoarthritis. Strated me on Plaquenil. Hope you get some relief soon. Best Wishes, V
