Three weeks following shoulder replacement surgery, the thumb and next two fingers remain numb. I've squeezed a ball hoping to regain feeling, but no luck. Makes buttoning a shirt a challenge. Has anyone overcame this condition?

Hello diable, have you spoken to your surgeon about this? I have not heard of anyone having this trouble after surgery. If you don't have an appt coming up in the next few days with the dr, I would be calling his office about this. Let us know what you find out.

When I had shoulder surgery a nerve got pinched and I ended up with numbness in my hand. It took about 4-5 months for the nerve to regrow and in the end everything was back to normal. You could see a neurologist to get a nerve test but it's really not necessary. It just takes time.
