Hoping for some help,

Recently went to see an orthopaedic surgeon about pain and loss of motion in my right shoulder. After the MRI the Dr. told me I have a mass of calcium that growing in the rotator cuff tendon.

all this I understand (and have done a fair amount of research about it online)

but the Dr. also said that it will have to be removed (arthroscopic) and that the process of removing it will damage the tendon and the operation will require repair of the rotator cuff as well. Dr. says this happens about 75% of the time.

All of this i understand, but i can find no reference on the web about removing the calcium will damage the rotator cuff.

Also slightly concerned that even after getting a second opinion both Dr. say surgery is the only answer, when it seems that there are other possible lines of treatment found on line.

Thanks for any help

oh my gosh,

and my I apologize for the long delay in response.

Hopefully you have figured out that you can get 3, 4, 5 opinions, go the major hospitals in your area.. If you are not comfortable with a surgeon, don't let them cut.

This is my suggestion.

I hope it helps you.
