Last week when I stood up from sitting, I had a sharp pain shoot through my groin. Ever since then I have been having ongoing pain in the thigh which gets worse as the day goes on. Totally scared this could be a loosening of the stem. I had my hip replaced 6 years ago, posterior replacement ceramic on ceramic. The stem was not cemented. I am not overweight and only walk and bike and do strengthening exercises from a physio. Am I worrying needlessly or should I go and see my doctor?

Loucath, I opt for seeing the dr just to be on the safe side. If everything checks out ok it will certainly give you peace of mind & that is worth a bunch to me.

Take care.
