go to goggle and search ...abnormal weight-bearing in joints....

you will get site after site that discuss osteoarthritis......osteoarthritis is not caused by age!......if that was true both sides of the body would wear out simultaneously.....sleeping for years and years on the same side and eventually getting tired of waking up at nite in severe pain,....and then learning to sleep on the other side for a few years until that side is worn out is not a process that depends on aging to wreak its havoc.......a new mattress is not the answer.....neither is a drug with a cute name.......

sleeping face down with the head twisted to one side over and over, nite after nite will wear it out .......acetimenophen is not what is needed to correct this situation.......

sleep flat of your back with a thick and narrow pillow under your knees,.....this is the only way......well,.....you can sleep some on both sides unless you have already worn out a shoulder or hip......your recliner will work if you use a neck protective device......

more later dear readers.....i tire........

Osteoarthritis occurs when the cartilage that cushions the ends of bones in your joints deteriorates over time. The smooth surface of the cartilage becomes rough, causing irritation. Eventually, if the cartilage wears down completely, you may be left with bone rubbing on bone — causing the ends of your bones to become damaged and your joints to become painful.

It isn't clear what causes osteoarthritis in most cases. Researchers suspect that it's a combination of factors, including being overweight, the aging process, joint injury or stress, heredity, and muscle weakness. Reference: Mayo
