I have more or less loss my sense of smell.  Sometimes I get a little whiff of something and it is very exciting for me.  Anybody else?

My sense of smell has decreased significantly because of my allergies. It seems that I don't smell things like I did before when I was younger. Do you smoke?

I have significant nasal polyps and frequent sinusitis that block all sense of smell for me, except when I am on high dose steroids. I lost the sense of sense of smell about 10 years ago...in my late 20's. I hate it that I can't smell cut grass, fresh roses, peanut butter. The absolute worst is that I can't smell a fire even when it is right under my nose!

I currently take 30 mg Prednisone, Theophylline, Singulair, Advair, Veramyst, Spiriva, Claritin D, Mucinex

Hi...no I do not smoke.  People who smoke can ofen smell.  Sorry you have lost your sense of smell since you were 20.  That is when I started getting tinnitus (ringing in ears) which is supposed to be another allergic signal I found out recently.  I did not start losing my sense of smell until I was around 38.  It is a drag but the whole allergic thing is a pain.  Have never had a polyp in my nose.  They opened my deviated septum but that did not help a lot. At the same time, they shrunk my turbines too.  It was ok but not as helpful as I had hoped.  Take care of yourselves and thanks for your replies.  eyes eyes
