So, allergic to chicken...when I first started complaining about it at about 6-years-old, the tests said I wasn't allergic. However, to this day, even one bite will cause me to have tight, intense, pulsating chest pains for about 20 secs every minute for about an hour. In very rare cases, my throat gets itchy and my tongue starts swelling. I usually fix that by popping a few benadryl.
I used to get hives all the time, now I don't and am seemingly immune to poison ivy/oak now. I was told I was allergic to dogs, weeds, and feathers, and now I only get reactions from weeds/grass.
A few years ago, a coworker advised me to try some free-range chicken. They ate only whatever they could find and weren't injected with a ton of crap.
So I bought a pack,
tried a couple bites and waited.
I ate the whole pack.
...nothing but satisfaction.
Except, the more I had this chicken, the more my body seemed to say "O I see waht u did there," and I started rejecting it again.
Its just dumb. I've lived without it almost my whole life and I have no big desire for a cure so I can eat it. I just hate having to ask people all the time if there's chicken in their food and get strange looks. Then "friends" have to be reminded 23-42 times when they offer you some. My mom even thought it was all in my head as a kid a purposely fed me a "ham" sandwich...that didn't go well.
Meh, I just want to know if this is actually an allergy to the chicken itself, or something else....
I just want to apply a name to this out of pure curiosity.
