Oh wow so sorry your feeling ill, Have you been to the doctor? Are you getting strep testing done? Maybe you should find a ENT(ears, nose & throat) Doctor, Could be caused by a sinsus infection too, just advise as I'm not a doctor. One year, a while back, I had sore throats no fever and kept testing positive for strep. so they took out my tonsils and I still tested for strep throat 4 times after I had my tonsils out, so the doctor then drained my sinsuses and put me on an IV antibotic, I've only had strep once since all that. So long story short make sure the doctor is paying attention to you and tell him or her that, and have you tried a saline nasal spray to clear out all the toxins in your sinsus?
Just trying to help.
Really hope you'll feel better soon.
lots and lots of Soft Hugz
Please keep us posted, Thanks

no, i don't think it is strep...it is similar to what i had in january except that i have a lot of mucous then. it was something that was going around up here in the northeast and maybe this is a reoccurence. thanks for your good thoughts. am seeing my dentist today and hope he will look at my throat.

What did the dentist say? Yes, it could be a very bad sinus infection, but you should still go see your doctor, if it continues or get worse.
Lots of well wishes to you.

hi, thanks for your concern. the dentist said that there was no infection in my throat. after it snowed here, all the problems i was having went away. now i am doing good so i guess it was the asthma/allergies mess. we have been getting a lot of off and on weather and it is very hard to adjust. some days are cold and then it gets warmer, then it gets cold, then the next day it gets warm so it has been difficult.

i am so glad the sore throat and other problems have abated. thank you again for your kind posts.

Thanks, Joan.  I found out the cause for my terrible pain yesterday.  I now have fibromyalgia to add to my list.  I had always heard it was really painful, believe me, it is.  I start on Lyrica next Wednesday and it's supposed to make me extremely sleepy and I have to build up the doses.  So I'm trying to work through the pain between now and then and get as many things done as I can

I had dinner with my grandchildren tonight.  I had not seen them in seven weeks because I had been so sick.  I guess I'll be visiting the fibro forum now.  I have a lot to learn.  I did diagnose myself though and then had my PCP refer me to a specialist.

Take care!

i don't have a lot of good things to say about lyrica but it is effective. they gave it to me for the shingles pain and it made me loopy and exhausted. now they gave me a tens unit and that works better. sorry to hear you have another bad diagnosis. boy, sometimes the bucket of woe seems to be overflowing.

I go back to the doctor for training on taking Lyrica this Wednesday.  This doctor is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.  He told me it will make me sleepy as we build up the dosage and I would not be able to drive.  Seems the not driving part won't matter now any way, I have had seizures three times this week. I have to start all over to work up to my 90 days seizure free again.  O.K., enough of my pity party.

After he gets me built up to the dosage where he wants me, he plans to get me on an exercise program.  Evidently, it's very important to exercise with fibromyalgia.  So, now I will have another forum to join and meet some more nice people.

Take care, Joan

Carla
