Hi I am new to the allergy forum but not the UC forum. I was suppose to have an allergy test today but my allergist did not complete it. She drew some blood & that was all. She wanted to perform a patch test but since I am taking remicade & methotrexate, she didn't perform the test. She was afraid that it would alter the test results. She is going to do it when it close to time for my next remicade infusion. So I will have less remicade in my system plus I am skipping a dose of methotrexate. I suddenly break out in hives all over my face only. Also my left ear has a full feeling & I have fluid on it a lot. I take antihistamines but doesn't seem to help my ear. It also makes me dizzy. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the fluid  off my ear & to relieve the dizziness?

Winter,

While I would like to welcome you to our forum, I'm afraid I do not have any answers for you.  But, please keep checking back because you never know when another member might see your post and identify with it.  Since you are already a member, you know how we all help each other.

Take care!

Do you know if the fluid/dizziness are from allergies for sure? You might want to discuss this with your Allergist, and also maybe an ENT (Ear-Nose-Throat specialist). Infections can occur in the sinuses & back up into the eustacean tube. This can cause fluid and dizziness, and with your medication cocktail, the symptoms of infection may be somewhat masked/less severe than what is truely going on.

Good luck,

Hello and Welcome to the Allergy Forum.  I have a middle ear problem and when I get dizzy, I use antivert which you can buy OTC but I like the ENT idea best.  If your going to use an OTC med you should check and make sure it won't interfere with you other meds.

Take care

I went to an ENT a couple of years ago & had a tube put in that ear bu it has since came out. I guess I need to make another appointment. No I am not sure if it allergy related or not
