I use an albuterol rescue inhaler and an Azmacort.  I went to my pharmacy today because my albuterol mouthpiece always clogs up.  I guess I have to rinse it out more often.  I asked about Xopenex and the pharmacist said that it is the same as albuterol and azmacort just combined in one inhaler.  So how can it work any better than what I am already using? Does it come out more as a spray than the albuterol which no longer has cfc?  I called the company that makes my inhaler and they said that government rules say cfc is no longer to be used.  The person I spoke to said the only way to get any change is if a lot of people write to their congressmen and tell them the problem.  I don't think it will do any good.  Just curious about the inhalers and would appreciate any more feedback.  Thanks.

Hello Aurora!
Read the thread down a few, started with Albuterol and was started by pins, it might have the answer your looking for...my reply is on that one.
Don't forget to rinse out the Azmacort inhaler out! Even the Xopenex inhaler needs to be rinsed out.
For me I prefer the Xopenex inhaler better as it works better for me with less shakingness as you get with albuterol.
Also, bring up the fact that the albuterol is not helping you with your doctor. Just bring it up casually in talking with your doctor that you'd like to switch maybe to something else that might work better and that you've seen a advertisement for Xopenex and if that might help better.
Hope this info helps.
Keep us posted and soft hugz
