it's been 2 weeks since Apr 13th.........at the beginning they were just some small bumps, now they join together, just look at my poor leg .......|||||| I HATE MY FAMILY DOCTOR....

http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/toc-image-picture-of-hives-urticaria

The website said hives could last for 6 weeks. New hives can continue to develop as the old areas fade..... same as my condition...... if it last for more than 6 weeks, then it's a big problem

I am taking Zyrtec,10mg one tablet daily and using Caladryl Lotion for itch relief....but still itchy......expecially at night, midnight!!!!! I can't sleep!!!!!! my doctor also gave me some prescription drug call MethyIPREDNISolone TABLETS, USP 4mg

i am burning, itching, and dying..... somebody help me ....

It is an allergic reaction. However, both of you are correct. Hives is one of the signs of an allergic reaction. You are not dying, its just hard to bare with. If you do start feeling a sweeling of airway get to ER right away. You can also take benedryl. Question is what are you allergic to... you need to add that to your list of allergies, so you know not to get in it or take it again. Are you on any new medications? Switched laundry detergents? Switched soaps?

I'm so sorry you have been experiencing hives :(

If they last longer than 6 weeks then they will out you in the category 'Chronic Hives' and it's a long and frustrating road to find a 'cure'.

There is lots of great advice in all the "hives" threads in this forum. Most cases of hives do resolve within 6 weeks though so stay positive!

Thank you so much for the replies.

I don't know what I am allergic to. My family doctor couldn't find the exact causes. Maybe because of dust or seafood? Those are the only 2 causes I can think of. I am taking fashion design courses, so I have to work with fabrics. I did ate shrimp on Apr 10th, I ate crab on Apr 11th, and I ate shrimp again on Apr 12th, then I have rashes on Apr 13th....... ||||||||

For some reasons, my symptoms seem to get better, I took 2 tablets methylprednisolone and Vitamin C last night. The itching calm down a lot, and the color of the red patches seem start to fade. However, when I walk or if I scratch the skin, new hives would still come up and itchy.
