My asthma has been lousy since the beginning of June. And I also lost my voice. I was put on antibiotics, shots of steroids, Advair, and then prednisone. My allergist wanted me to see the pulmonologist because I wasn't getting better.

I saw the pulmonologist on June 30th and he thinks it might be fungus, allergy to something, or allergy storm; 1 possibility is valley fever. Allergy storm is where immunoglobulin antibodies get hypersensitive and react to everything, which he said is hard to fix. Also I received another shot of steroids. The Dr. is running a bunch of tests; xray, lab, pulmonary function test; including a swallow test to see why I'm so hoarse. The pulmonary function test isn't until the end of Aug. and I don't see the pulmonologist until Aug 11. My allergist doesn't think that it is an allergy because I would have gotten better on prednisone.

I'm living on the nebulizer as inhalers aren't working. Most days I can only go 3-4 hrs between breathing treatments, plus I wake up at 3 or 4 in the morning having to have one. I getting really frustrated because I have so little energy and can't do much cuz I'll start coughing.

My question for you all is do you know of ways to make me feel any better while I'm waiting for test results?

Thanks

btw- I just found this site today.

I forgot to say that I was already on Xyzal and Singulair as my regular meds. The med for the breathing treatments is DuoNeb.
