My son who has been taking Seretide inhaler since he was 2 years old (he is turning 8 next week) is the shortest in his class and he gets teased and bullied by the bigger boys.

We tried to wean him off few years ago but his asthma attack got worst so we maintained it.

He used to have severe allergic rhinitis at 1 & 1/2 years old and taken zyrtec, nasonex for years but now I stopped it for fear of long term effect. He's much better now though still have the sniffles every morning.

I hope he will outgrown his asthma so he can be drug-free and start "growing" normally.

Yes, Seretide contains Fluticasone which is a corticosteroid. Corticosteroids taken over time can stunt growth in children. Zyrtec is safe to take for allergies and should not stunt growth but Nasonex also has a corticosteroid which can. If he stills needs a nasal spray, you can ask the doctor about Astelin which is steroid free.
