Unfortunately it sounds like you may have an allergic reaction to the chlorine found in most pools. This is pretty common actually. If I had to choose between my eyes or a sport, you bet I would choose my eyes :) I'm sort of wondering aloud here but I wonder if putting vaseline around your eyes if that would prevent the water from irritating the skin. Or what about
goggles, do you wear goggles?

I tried Vaseline and I tried getting bigger goggles that cover more of the area around my eyes and I still reacted just a little bit less.
