For the last month and a half my 5 year old daughter has been having trouble with her asthma. She has been on treatments every 4 hours for weeks, pulmicout, albuterol inhaler and 3 different doses of steroids. But this past Saturday she had an acute asthma attack. I had to rush her to the Emergency Room because she would not stop coughing. They her 4 treatments, tylenol with codeine and a steroid shot. She did end up going home.but my problem is this is getting ridiculous. Her asthma is not under control. As soon as she gets better and go back to school she gets sick again.
But this episode she had was not like the others. Her eyes and face were blood shot red, her heart rate and respiratory rate was up and still is. She still is breathing at a faster rate than normal. Her respiratory rate at tsleep is about 24-26 breathes per minute. Can someone give me some ideas what to do?
