Hello, i have had asthma in the past but now it has returned. I am 23 weeks pregnant and i am having really bad breathing problems mainly when i lay down to sleep. i have been to my doctors and they have given me salamol and steroids but the dont seem to help me, i have to take the steroids in the morning and night and the salamol every 4 hrs (4 puffs) and 2 puffs inbetween if i need it. I have an attack about every 3 to 4 hrs everyday and its annoying me lol. Also if i have been ok within the 4 hours i still have to take the inhaler but when i do take it it starts it off and i dont know why this is.
This has been going on for about 6 weeks now and i cannot sleep at all. i have tried raising pillows and using a wet towel in my room at night but still have no luck. it starts off by a strange feeling in the back of my throat followed by constant coughing and i cannot get my breath.

Is there anyone eles who has had this problem? Did you find a way around it?

Thanks

You maybe having silent reflux. Acid could be coming up into your lungs causing irritation.

That is alarming to have that many attacks. An attack causes loss of oxygen to the brain. Please see your doctor/pulmonologist. Don't be stupid like me and wait til you start blacking out to stumble into an ER and get told you would of died 30 minutes later.
