When the snow melts and the warm spring sunshine starts to warm the world again, the sights and sounds of renewal can be seen and heard everywhere....including the sounds of sneezing.  I hate spring!  mad

Yes, I had to add Mucinex to my arsenal this morning. Our early trees are pollenating like crazy. <cough>

My daughter, who has severe allergies, is starting to feel the spring allergy season too. She was doing very well on her allergy shots, going every other week now instead of weekly but her poor immune system is being taxed to the max. I think I may have to start having her add back in her Allegra until spring is over.

This morning, I went outside to take my daughter to school and sneezed like 20 times in 30 minutes...it felt like my brain was going to trickle out of my nose for a while there!

I'm on double zyrtec for the next few weeks- doctor's orders.

My ears, eyes, and nose are itchy. :(

Zyrtec, Advair, Mucinex and Benadryl at night for me. Then I'll have to take a break from the Benadryl after a few days because my brain will be on an antihistamine strike.

My allergies make me tired. It's like going on a no sleeping binge for 2 days and trying to rest up with catnaps. I am sleeping ok at night but my nose has been getting stuffy again and normally I don't snore but I did the other night. I tell my hubby that anytime I snore to wake me up because it hurts my throat. So maybe I am not sleeping as well as I thought.

I mean it makes sense really. When allergies act up, it revs up the immune system. After a while, the body can become exhausted from fighting. That's my theory anyway! lol

Maybe what is holding me together is the allegra (you can get it in generic now) which my primary care doc wants me to take for the eczema. I am going to use my personal best peak flow meter to find out how I am doing. It is rain city around here, very grey and dismal, raw and cold. Wore my winter coat yesterday. Took a decongestant last night.

The weather people say that it will get up to 78 this weekend. Will try to hang in there.

I hope the Allegra helps you and keeps you from suffering from Allergies, Asthma AND Eczema :) Allegra doesn't do much for me which is why I am on Zyrtec right now along with Singulair.

We are supposed to have nice weather this weekend too. Actually it's beautiful out right now - sunny and about 70....unreal for March in Michigan!

Joan, sorry to hear you're having such a miserable day. Whenever it rains, I just clog up and cough; I know it's the mold.

Here's hoping a couple of warm sunny days will set you right.

Woke up with a sore throat today. I am thinking the stuff from my head went down to my throat. My breathing is ok. I have not disobeyed any GERD rules more than normal.

They say that GERD and asthma are common but there is a causal link. They don't link asthma and high blood pressure together.

Am really wiped out. Was hoping to go to the gym for my exercise regime today. (Had a total knee replacement in December.) Have a book club meeting early tonight as well.

Thanks for listening. Try not to discuss with friends since it is so dreary.

MY EYES!!! Alaway says that they offer relief up to 12 hours. Um, it didn't even last me 5 hours. And you can only use the drops twice per day.

And the skin in my nose is scratched up and bleeding from blowing my nose so much.

I hate allergies.

Get you some systane or soothe to wash your eyes out during the day. You can use it 30 minutes after the allergy med and up to 15 minutes before the next dose.
I personally love the soothe it feels the best.

For your irritated nose, get some Ayr nasel gel. Rub it on heavy, it will help with the redness.
I noticed you don't take anything for your hayfever. Do you see an allergist? I take Zyertec for my hayfever and patenase spray.

Does systane help with itchy and red eyes? It is really the worst apart; I'm so sick of this!

I am taking Zyrtec (10 mg in the morning, and 5 mg at night). And when my nose isn't sore and bleeding, I use a neti pot.

It helps my eyes. I think it's washing the pollen out.

If your nose is bleeding you better see an allergist for something to help. You might have a perforation.

It's not really bleeding...it's just that skin is scratched up from blowing my nose so much, and sometimes there's a bit of blood from the skin. Would the Ayr nasal gel help with that? Can I get that at a drugstore, or do I need to order it online?

Could I use systane with Alaway as well?

My doctor prescribed flonase, but I never took it because it's side effect was a nose bleed and the skin inside my nose was already sensitive and sore.

Systane never worked that well for me. I have both allergies and Dry Eye syndrome so I use Refresh Optive Sensitive and that seems to work better for both my allergies and DES. But Systane was first "prescribed" to me by my doc for my allergies when I couldn't use prescription Patenol.

And yes, I am pretty sure you can still use Systane with Alaway. Just do it as Couchtater suggested.

I got my Ayr at Target. I had to ask the pharmarcist where it was, but it's an OTC medication.

cool I rather wear sunglasses than use eye drops.  I also use water, ice packs and use baggies of frozen rice on my eyes. cool  That's just me.

I'm still feeling so awful. Zyrtec twice a day isn't helping at all. I did start using Ayr, but it hasn't helped my scratched up nose all that well. I gave in and set up an appt. with the allergist. I think I might start shots...

I'm sorry. I was hoping it would help.

We have high pollen warnings right now. It's been super high for about a week now. Every morning my throat itches from the pollen. At night my eyes and ears kick in.
At least I'm not sneezing (knock wood).

LOL!

Well today, I coughed enough for everybody. My asthma was very reactive today with all of the pollen.
