So when I was about 16 years old I had hives for almost 2 years then they just went away. The Doc's could never figure out what caused them and why they went away. They always felt they were stressed related but i was 16 and i dont remnmeber being that stressed out. Anyway i'm now 31 years old and everyting is going well i got a wife and two kids a decent job been working a ton...

Last saturday i was working in the yard all day and monday i had a whikced stessful day at work i got home and i had some hives on my arms... the next day on tuesday they were still there so i thought i had poisy ivy... on wensday they were all gone but i woke up this morning and i had them all over my legs and arms. I'm so bumbed out cause its been so long since ive had these. The only thing ive changed in my diet is i had a kidney stone 3 weeks ago so i stopped driving soda and coffee and also changed my hair gel lol but i switched it back...

so i have no idea why there back but i dont want them lol and i cannnot do this another 2 years im truley bummed out.

Hi Rich, welcome to Healingwell. Take a peek at our posts titled "Chronic Uticaria". There might be something in those posts that could help you. I watched my mother-in-law go thru the very same thing at the age of 61 so I know how much "fun" this can be! Have you ever been to an allergist?

not yet this just happend like two days ago... its just very frustrating cause i thought i had put this past me..

 I have had this garbage (CU) for well over 7 months now and it is a pain ! You may or may not have CU you might have acute Hives which is usually short term and it will go away on its own. As suggested go to an allergist or GP and have him perscribe some antihistimines so you can live with this stuff and examine you with some tests. I am currently taking 2-180 mg of Allegra,1-10mg of Singulair,1-10mg of Claratin and 2 Tagamets. Does this get rid of my hives / NO butt it sure helps with the itching and pain!. I also take Prednisone on occasion(small dosage) that works but don't make a habit of it if it can be helped. As you can see by my "handle" that is where I usually have hives in the morning. By they way,I have found a more active site for CU should you be interested. Hang in there buddy ,you are not alone !

Hi Rich,
You said you had been working in your yard, so is it possible you're allergic to something outside? I hope you figure out what's causing your hives! I've had mine for over a year and I can't figure out why I have mine either, and believe me I've tried almost everything I can think of. Definitely get some antihistamines and see an allergist and/or Dr., although it's been my experience that Dr.'s know very little about hives. My allergist has helped me the most. Good luck to you.

Yeah i was working in the yard on sunday and i noticed some on my arms and legs then they went away but they came back periodlly through out the day like my hives used to i started thinking if i was using any new products in my house and i was some new hair gel lol so i stopped using it. Also the only other thing ive changed is a quit drinking coffee and soda so im not sure today i woke up and i only had two on there so im not sure whats going on but i remmeber this is how it started b4 small then crazy... im not sure if its stress related cause ive had a ton of stupid stress lately i guess i gotta setup docs appointment and see how it goes...

Hi Rich, In the past, I had hives when my allergic condition was very bad. I was so allergic to dust that we heated our house with our wood stove. I got the bright idea to use the furnace blower to disperse the heat and soon I started getting hives. It took some time to identify the cause. I feel hives are part of the allergic triangle of skin reactions (hives), allergies and asthma. My allergies have just about been eliminated by NAET and with no allergies there are no skin reactions. There is a face book page that I really like. It sells nothing and talks about his getting well from severe allergies and asthma and he is virtually drug free. His name is Ben Roy Baker. Stay Well

My son has acute hives to cold. When he is in cold water or cold weather, he gets outbreaks on his arms and chest/stomach area. What can I do to help slow down or stop these hives? Do any of you have experiences that can compare to this? I really don't know what to do so any help is welcome.

Does covering up help any? Hat, gloves, ski mask, and heavy clothes. Don't leave any part uncover.
