if you are on claritin will it affect blood histamine levels

I'm not sure. We are not doctors nor pharmacists so maybe you should call up either one of yours to ask? I would want to say yes it would but I'm not a doctor so don't take my word on it.

are you having a trytase level performed? If so, it's always recommended that you stay on your meds.

Claratan is an H1 inhibitor. It's supposed to lower your histamine levels. That being said, as a systemic mastocytosis patient I can tell you that it doesn't even make a dent in my tryptase level. It was originally 73.5 (normal being between 3-11). A year after taking meds (claratan, zantac, aspirin and gastocrom) it's now 83.
