Hi, I'm new and I have a very troubling rash on my fingers, hands, arms, back, chest and neck.

A little backstory, I work in the Deli of a Grocery Store where my manager constantly has me working on Deep frying frozen breaded chicken and etc and I have to handle and cook raw chicken that I have to put spices on by hand (of course wearing latex free gloves)

I also have to do a large amount of dishes per shift using industrial strength degreaser while wearing latex gloves.

I'm including a link to a picture of the rash on my left hand that I took yesterday with my phone.

Thank you for your input and advice or suggestions.

Looks like an allergy. I believe the industrial strength cleaner with latex gloves is causing it. Does the cleaner or spices get inside the gloves? That could be the problem.

I agree with joy, it's probably from the industrial strength cleaner, and
if it gets worse, you'll need to consider getting into a doctor for treatment...
Hope your feeling better soon...

If it gets worse call a doctor.

It does look like an allergic reaction. However, it looks like a bacterial infection I had once on my hand. I was prescribed a antibiotic cream and it went away within a week but boy was it itchy!

Thanks for your replies.

I ended up having to go to the ER because I was having visual hullucinations, problems breathing and the rash intensified.

Turns out, after going through everything I had been in contact in the last 6-8 weeks the only thing we could think of is the chickens I have to prepare at work.

They are treated with that lovely substance known as amoxcillian, which I have a severe allergy too (see above symptoms). Which we believe some of the chicken residue got into my bloodstream via a second degree burn on my arm and basically went nuclear through my system. It was fun when I kept seeing a little pink thing trying to eat my foot.

So, I told my employeers and instead of giving me a chance to redeem myself in another department (I had asked to be sent else where in the store), they fired me because suddenly my job description had changed to work exclusively with the chickens.

I am presently investigating my litigation options.

What??!!! I'm glad you are looking into investigating this! It doesn't seem fair that they can fire you because of an allergic reaction. It's not like this was your fault....good grief! Please keep us updated ok?
