Newbie here.

I have never really had allergies that I know of, but for the past 6 mos. or so I have had a dry cough that is quite persistent. Also, the past two weeks I have had a swelling, clogged sensation in the inside of my cheeks.  Went to the dentist last week and he found no dental problems and gave me antibiotics as a possible way of dealing with the swelling. It did not help at all, and now I am thinking it could be some type of sinusitis. ??

Appreciate any suggestions or advice!

Try some allergy spray and see if it feels better. Don't use it more than 3 days for OTC medicine. If you feel better by day three go to an allergist and ask to be tested for allergies. If there is no results, you could have silent gerd and it's affecting your lungs and sinuses. Then you need to see a pulomologist and a GI.

If it continues, you should visit your doctor or ENT. But I agree, maybe try an otc allergy med and see if it helps first.

Thanks ladies! Sorry to be so ignorant, but what type of allergy spray? I have used Benadryl at night to sleep but what do I use during the day without getting drowsy?

I'm not quite sure which allergy spray Couchtater is referring to that is OTC. I know they have prescription nasal allergy sprays such as Nasonex, Nasocort etc. If you want to try an otc allergy med, I recommend Zyrtec. You take this at night because it can cause drowsiness but it lasts for 24 hours. Or if you want a more milder allergy med to take just for the day, you can try Clariten or Clariten D.

Ah that nasal spray Joy :) That's not really an allergy spray so I was confused to which one you were referring to. That is use more for any sort of nasal congestion associated with but not limited to allergies/colds/flus etc. But definitely gotta agree, never use this more then 3 days.
