My 10 year old has had breathing problems since he was four weeks old and has been on medication of one kind or another continuously since then. He does not have severe asthma, but has a chronic mild type that has been difficult to keep under control over the years. He also has acid reflux disease which may or may not contribute to his breathing difficulties.
His recent blood allergy test results were sky high so he had the skin tests as well to which he reacted to a dozen or so things. I didn't think that was very much since his older brother reacted to nearly everything, but the doc recommended shots. The allergist who is also an asthma specialist claims that there is a good chance that if we commit to the shots for next 2-3 years that it may solve his asthma problems.
This is supposed to be a conservative doctor, but is that promising too much? Anyone have such results? I am really excited, but I am also dubious.
thanks.
