Hi. For a design task i am set to design an inhaler which is suitable for recycling or to be reusable. I am aware that the current products available are typically disposed of as household waste and when you consider hundreds of millions are manufactured every year this is not ideal
I am trying to find out how asthma sufferers live there life with their inhaler etc, what you would like to see in a reusable/refillable inhaler before you switch over from your standard one. Any information and help you could give would be great and hugely beneficial to my project. If you could try and answer some of the following questions as well it would be very much appreciated.

How do you currently dispose of your inhalers?
How long does your inhaler typically last?
How many do you have at any one time?
Are you keen to recycle?
Would you be interested in a reusable inhaler?
What would you like to see in a new design?

And any other useful info you could give.

Many thanks

John

How do you currently dispose of your inhalers? - in the trash
How long does your inhaler typically last?-- about a year
How many do you have at any one time?-- one
Are you keen to recycle?--If you can return it for a deposit
Would you be interested in a reusable inhaler?--sure to save money
What would you like to see in a new design?--counters to keep track of uses, no lost caps, a dust cover to keep fibers from getting inside and causing them to get inhaled.

How many do you have at any one time? - two
Are you keen to recycle? - sure
Would you be interested in a reusable inhaler? - sure
What would you like to see in a new design? - a counter, smaller particle size to get deeper into the lungs without a spacer - and remember, everything needs to be latex-free

Dispose the plastic parts of my Ventolin in the recycle bin and the rest in normal bin.
My Ventolin -1 inhaler a fortnight. Symbicort -1 a month(200/6)
Yes,very keen to recycle.
Yes ,a reusable inhaler would be ideal.
I would like to see if possible a complete "all in one inhaler" :one that acts as both a preventer and a reliever or a counter on the Ventolin.
