My FIL had to be taken to the hospital the other night for pneumonia. He also has COPD. But because his breathing has got so bad they had to transfer him down to a ward that offers one on one respiratory care. I am not sure what this means, can someone tell me? My MIL called and told me but she wasn't sure either what it meant. She was on her way to the hospital and find out.

I think this means they are trying to get him breathing better, and
my heart goes out to you and your family.
I hope he gets well soon, Prayers and healing hugz.

Thanks Char. I just found out that he's in the ICU so they can keep a better eye on his breathing.

Thanks for asking Percycat. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I was hospitalized myself on Friday for an intestinal virus and I was released on Sunday - just now getting back into the swing of things. My FIL is doing much better. I think he is being released today. What was really a good but strange coincidence is that when I was hospitalized and after I got my room, I found out that they were transferring my FIL out of ICU to a regular room. Come to find out, they transferred him to a room that was only three down from me! So in the mornings, I would go visit him and see how he was doing. My MIL and husband were joking saying that at least we made it easy on them to come visit us! lol

Red,

Hugs all 'round for your family. So glad you're home and feeling a little better, and that your FIL is no longer in ICU, maybe even released!

There's definitely some intestinal/stomach virus going around. My MIL was sick the other day; vomiting and diarrhea. I don't know 100% that it was a virus I had because there were a couple other factors going on. But if it was, wow what a doozy! I was in so much pain it was unreal.

My FIL was released last night from the hospital. They held him another day. I have yet to call them to see how he is doing because it's only 9:30am here.

Thanks for the hugs Percycat :)

It's a very nasty bug! At times you're sitting on the toliet and holding a bucket! Almost everyone in my house has caught it.

I hope everyone's feeling better today. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids. You will get dehydrated with it.
