Hi everyone,
My husband suffered terribly with Chronic urticaria and he is still coping with it now though it is improving. The frustrating thing is that the information is scattered and that you end up having to pay some websites for that elusive information or miracle cure. We went there and paid some of them. However I have created a page that is free to read with our experiences and things that we used includingt he information which is free.
For your information on here now, the main aspects of these pages is that it can be caused by an allergy to gluten. I created this to help others and also to gather persoanl experiences to enhance the information. Having it all in one place would have made things easier for me and I hope it does for you.
There is no cost involves, it is just a free page to read.
I hope it helps you and I hope that there will be a positive outcome for you if you are a sufferer.

I'm sorry to hear that your husband is suffering so much. I have not had CU but I do get rashes quite frequently.

Your site seems very informative and well written. Would you mind if I put this in our Resource section?

People!!!! I am going to share some things with all of you in the hope that you can find the right path to help you help yourselves. I have suffered from chronic idiopathic urticaria for 4.5 years. Like a lot of you I seeked the help of western medicine specialists such as allergists and dermatologist, have taken numerous prescription and OTC meds, been on antiinflammatory and antihistamine diets and all to no avail. I have spontaneous breakouts for no reason but half the time I know my triggers. nono
So my triggers are always the same: excessive sun exposure, working out, beer, tight clothing, stress or anxiety, citrus fruit, caffeine, anything with preservatives.

Nothing really makes sense and the random breakouts are the worst cause I just never know when they'll show up and how severe they will be. Like some of you, I feel leperous in public cause they sure do look awful.

So here are the facts we all share...of all the people diagnosed w/ chronic hives only about 30% or less ever find out the root cause and after 4 years about 60% are fortunate enough to have them go away as mysteriously as they appeared. I don't think I'll be so lucky and many of you are well beyond that 4 year mark. So what to do, what to do?

The bottom line is western medicine is not the answer for most of us. I have seeked out other resources and I am forming a network of non-traditional specialists to help me on my journey to a hive free life which has consumed my life for way too long. I am ready for a quality life free of anticipating my next breakout. I am under the care of an acupuncturist and a naturopath who specializes in autoimmune diseases. My acupuncturist I see weekly for stress relief and if I get a bad breakout, they go away immediately. She also has me on chinese herbs that cool my body and nourish my blood and they keep the hives at bay. My naturopath is a new addition. I have seen multiple one's and kept moving on till I found the right one willing to do what I wanted and hear my entire story. She is testing for any and all possible autoimmune options and the tests are pending. After she narrows some stuff down my acupuncturist will be referring me to a kinesiologist naturopath, he can read your body's energy and determine allergy's, aversions, deficiencies, excessiveness, etc. He will be the fine tuning in my treatment.
I have been through a lot of what you have been through but I have not given up and I will not give in. I hope some of you will heed my advice and break away from what is obviously not working and find someone who can help figure out what your body is telling you. Manifestation of hives is linked to so many non traditional sources so I encourage you to explore non traditional resources. I am in the Seattle area if any of you are wanting some names and numbers of my network. My life has already started changing for the better and yours can too!
