I've been on allergy shots for quite a while, but a few days ago I called my allergist's office to see if grass was in the mix. It wasn't. Ah-ha!
It rained like mad here in the Ohio River valley all spring, and then it got hot, hot, hot. And the grass grew and grew, and it was too wet to mow. Finally, when it was halfway up the old Ford tractor's hood I went out and whacked away even though there were still swampy places. And I sneezed and coughed and showered and took Alavert.
The allergist confirmed my suspicion. Grass pollen is rampant this year, much worse than normal, and the patients are flocking in. So now I have a new shot each week while I build up an immunity, and eyedrops, and an inhaler, and more Alavert.
I'm changing my name to Pincushion.
