I have a daughter who has a mild allergy to maple trees and was curious if the tree allergy strictly the pollen or is maple syrup also unsafe or will cause issues?  If so can these types of allergies cause behavioral issue that either amplifies existing ADHD or mimic ADHD behavior in a child?

There is some research that shows that allergies can cause increase hyper-activity in children with ADHD. As for the maple trees/syrup - well I can't really say for sure. I would think yes. Mainly because, for example, if one was to take bee propolis (a by-product from bees) and is allergic to bees than it would cause an adverse reaction. So I would think that the same would hold true to any tree by-products.
