My daughter is 16 years old. When she was 6 months old she was diagnosed with trachea stenosis after many hospitializations. The doctors dilated it at the time and she has not seemed to have trouble since until now. Let me explain.
When she was real young she was also diagnosed with a swallowing disorder that caused her to aspirate without any warning. No coughing, sputtering, choking nothing. This was not related to the stenosis and she had a gtube placed for about 18 months. She has been mostly healthy for the last several years with the exception of some wheeziness and tightness due to the asthma on occasion and always with exercise.
However this year already she has been hospitialized twice for "asthma exaberations". My concern is she has had some instances where she feels as though food is stuck in her upper airway. This is fairly new symptoms. My main question is can the stenosis come back this long after dialation and being diagnosed as "resolved trachea stenosis"?
Thanks for any help.
