I had the sinus surgery a year ago and still have the sinusitis. Antibiotics clear it for a couple of weeks and then it's back. It started with a wreck that broke my nose and pused my septum way over. The septum was not corrected during the surgery. I can barely breathe through the side where the septum in lying.
I'm already taking allergy shots and have no allergy symptoms and tried the nose spray antihistamine, which did nothing. But that's something your ENT might want to give you to try.
My ENT has had me on prednisone and some steroid inhalers and nose sprays. I'm trying another one now. The others did nothing except give me side effects or taste bad and also cost too much.
I've seen my allergist for this also. She's had me on antibiotics and Diflucan too. I don't have asthma, but I do get respiratory symptoms if the sinus infection is not treated with antibiotics soon enough.
This is one of those problems where we have to try everything until something works. If you find a cure please post it! I've been jumping through the hoops for nearly 3 years and today my cheeks are red again and lungs congested. My ENT doesn't want to give me any more antibiotics.
Sorry, no cure here.
