Hubby went out and got Olive Garden's Lasagna, for dinner, 20 minutes aftr eating, asthma flairs starts, took my rescue inhaler which helped, and got the ingredients listings, from Olive Gardens website and I have it narrowd down to 4 ingredients, mushrooms, broccoli, carrots and zucchini, possibly parsely. But it sure is frustrating to have had this happen, I have to go back home next year and one family member can only eat out at Olive garden due to being vegan and for now I never want to eat there again. I also had itching under arms from this and next time it could be anaphlaxsis. I do plan to go over this with my doctor, as to what one ingredient caused this reaction, I'm thinking either mushrooms or carrots....would hate to get allergy testing done bummer.dang it.

What about the ingredients in the sauces, anything to drink? I wouldn't normally suspect any of the ingredients you listed. I would be looking at the ingredients in the tomato sauce, especially the herbs.

Surely there are restaurants in your area with at least some vegan items on the menu? I can't go to OG because there's garlic and onion in everything, even the breadsticks.

You could check with your allergist about doing challenge testing. You eat a teaspoon of the plain suspect food (TBSP if youdon't really suspect it), then wait 20 minutes. If no reaction eat 2tsp and wait another 20 minutes, then double again to 4, then 8, and stop at 16tsp. Wait a few hours before going on to the next food challenge. Food reactions can come on as late as 2 days if the reaction is migraine, but I always notice it within half an hour to two hours at most.

There's a website somewhere that lists chain restaurant food ingredients. It has them classified by type of allergy. Maybe someone will post it.

I have a friend who is vegan, they eat out a lot. try natural restraunts, organic places, so on. Even oriental places will have a buffet and tons of veggies, tofu, fruits, n more. You should really do the allergy testing..

My hometown is small, a few handful of fastfood places, ect. Very few restraunts. The alfredo sauce thhey used is a suspect, but I believe it could be the broccoli as I don't have that often at all, carrots tend to give me stomach issues. Tomatoes are not a problem, meat is not a problem, basilis not a problem, mozzarella, parmesan are no problems for me as I eat these routinely, along with onions...
Had water to drink hee at home as he got this at take out, and it's the second time my asthma has flaired within 30 minutes afte eating at Olive Garden, same dish boh times, only exception is one time w did eat out other time hubby ggot take out...
Thanks for the ideas, will talk more with my doctor next week...

It may be the mushrooms...I had that problem. My doctors said it may be the way someone prepares them. They may not clean them well.

Lots of people don't tolerate mushrooms.

Or the alfredo sauce. It's full of corn starch, pepper and parmesan cheese each of which can make me sick.

These ingredients all have loads of sulfites. Then there's the heavy cream and my lactose intolerance.
