Hi, 3 days ago I was diagnosed with having Urticaria. I was round a friends house the night before and thought I had been bitten as had sudden itch on my chest. When I got home I had big weals under by bra line and waistband. I applied calamine lotion and went to bed. When I woke in the morning I had more and it slowly started spreading over my body. Saw a nurse who told me to take piriton and use double base cream. Rash got worse I became dizzy and had nausea next day was unbearable got an emergency appt and was prescribed steroids. Was told they would kick in straight away.....they didn't. Ended up in A&E with swollen eyes and hands they gave me an iv of steroids and took blood results of which were ok. Was told to continue course of steroids and see GP. The weals changed into individual spots and GP thought it was chicken pox. Overnight after an oatmeal and bi-carbonate of soda bath I woke this morning with my skin being the clearest it has been (so clearly not pox) but within minutes of being up I was covered in the red itchy rash again. I've no idea what caused this. I had fresh pine nuts and Mascapone cheese the night the hives appeared and although I've had pine nuts in pesto before I've never had a reaction. I've analysed everything but still do not know the cause. I'm also due to go on holiday in two days time which seems unlikely now due to this rash :( Does anyone have any recommendations, I've tried itch relief creams too which last a few mins.
