6 months late but I thought I'd mention it anyway... I suffer from something similar although luckily it's not every weekend. I've got allergies to various things - dogs (we've got 2), cats, horses, pollen, house dust, sand etc. My current theory is that my body is under allergic load constantly, although sometimes its better or worse depending on the season etc. What I think triggers the rhinitis problems at the weekend is not an increase in allergens (I work at home during the week anyway) but a reduction in something that's suppressing the symptoms - specifically cortisol. Cortisol is a stress hormone and, although I don't have a particularly stressful job, I am prone to anxiety occasionally and I always notice the difference between weekdays and weekend in terms of how relaxed I am. Cortisol is also a potent anti inflammatory and once you reduce the levels in a body that's got lots of histamine sloshing around it's not too surprising that one experiences physiological effects, I guess.
Well anyway, that's my theory, for what's it's worth :)
