Im new to this forum and writing about my situation in hopes that people can help me or give me advice.  Im 29 years old. I been a problem medical child since i was a kid. As a child I was deaf for a year, at age 19 i was blind for a few weeks and next week i get nasal surgery for the 2nd time to remove my nose polyps. because of the polyps my nose is constantly stuffy every day of my life,  i can't breathe thru my nose, you can clearly hear me breathing very loud and i can't smell. unfortunately with polyps there is no cure for them so they do grow back. i been thru it all but im telling you right now getting hives is the worst thing that has ever happen to me. i have never experienced so much pain and heartache in my life.

it started in late december 2011.  i was in bed one night and i started getting itchy and i noticed i was getting hives. i have never been so shocked in my life. the hives were super thick. it looked like i got WHIPPED by a belt. i went crazy and bought bed bug chemical spray for my bed and changed all my detergents to hypoallergenic detergents. the hives were coming every day. i never been so itchy in my life. it practically made me tear when i couldn't sleep at night because i couldn't stop the itching. i usually sleep naked in bed and now i can’t cuz i get itchy. i was getting itchy when i was at the gym cuz the sweat caused me to itch. i had to stop working out within 10 minutes and leave. i can't do hot yoga anymore because the heat makes me break out. when somebody offers me to wear their clothes i would get itchy. if i buy new clothes at the store i have to wash them first before i can wear it out.

minimal hives are red lines and rashes going throughout my body. i got hives once on my face.  i think i have chronic hives. If i scratch my hives can look horrid. i took pics. just msg me and i can show you.

For the past 9 years I knew i was allergic to environment allergens: grass, trees, shrubs, chicken feather, pollen, cats, dust, dust mites and house dust. i went for a  food sensitivity test at a natural path’s office and the blood test said i was allergic to everything in the book: glutton, wheat, dairy, veggies, certain meats, nuts and fruits. i thought this was the worst day in my life since im a huge food lover.  a few weeks later i finally got to see my allergist and he gave me a skin test.  he individually tested me for everything in the book. my results came in and now im only allergic to dust, house dust, dust mites, and strawberries. he said the body changes every 7 years and that's why im not allergic to the old allergens. he individually tested me for all those foods i was allergic to and everything came back negative. he said those tests are half fake. kind of a sham. we checked for strawberries on the foods test and it didn't say nothing about me being allergic to strawberries at all. The test said strawberries was a low risk. so i recommend people not to believe these tests and to get tested by an allergist every 7 years. from what i been told these food sensitivity tests will always say you are allegic to glutton, wheat and dairy because in reality these foods are not good for you.  as we get older out bodies are breaking down on us. i recommend eating healthy and working out daily.

my allergist believed that it wasn't the dust or allergies giving me hives. he said what i had was pretty severe. something he's never really seen before in all his years of being an allergist. all the results for the blood work came back negative so we tried doing a skin biopsy. i wasn't allowed to take any anti histamine pills before the test. the pills prescribed for me are teva-hydroxyzine. these pills are my life savers. they never leave my side. i take them every 2 days when i can sense that the itching is coming. also attached to my hip is aveeno's anti-itch lotion. This lotion makes the itching stop and works well because there is calamine in it. not being able to take pills and being itchy is HELL. i can feel the hives moving around my body slowly. i got the skin biopsy results back and it came back inconclusive. the allergist suggested  taking weekly allergy shots for dust mites. i been taking shots twice a week for a month now and the hives are still coming.

before getting hives i was getting laser removal for my tattoos, i got breast implants in august 2011, i started drinking a bit more when i was going out every wkd and started more frequent drug use (cocaine). I went to my breast surgeon and he said there is no way that my implants could have started the hives. my nose specialist who is also my laser removal doctor said the laser couldn't have started the hives. i did a bit of research on cocaine use (i started when i was 26) and there is something called levamisole thats used to make cocaine. research states levamisole could start allergies aka hives. im not 100% sure cocaine was the cause of my hives but im leaning towards it.  because of my nasal surgery (the surgery is not for cocaine use but i know it probably made my nasal problems worst) i'm quitting the drugs and because of this thread im gonna go on a full detox. i need help on what kind of detox i should go on  or what kind of herbs i should be taking. i don't wanna live with these hives anymore. ive  gotten used to them but i would love them to go away. any tips or suggestions could help. also pls don't judge me on the drug use. I truly believe that its best to be completely honest about everything in order to get the right help.

Hi I don't use drugs but have hives as you do. Mine get worse at night, if I'm hot too. When I thought I was going to have to do skin testing I could only stop the antihistamines for 2 days because I was literally scratching my skin off. My Allergist did not skin test me but put me on one Allegra in the morning, one Singulair in the evening along with one Xyzal in the evening. I also have Hydroxyzine if I still feel itchy. Some nights are worse then others. For a few weeks I wasn't getting any hives but now for a few nights I have gotten some but no where near as bad if I wasn't taking these meds. Unfortunately you can have chronic hives without being allergic to something. My Mom is also and takes a slew of medications too. Hers may eventually go away at least that is what her doctor tells her. Mine I don't think ever will. :(
