"Asthma in childhood may cause development of internalizing symptoms in adolescence," study author Dr. Rosa Alati told Reuters Health. Examples of internalizing behavior include excessive crying, feelings of worthlessness, sulking, anxiousness, lack of involvement with others, and feelings of guilt."
