I just found this site because I was doing some searching about sulfites. I recently had a bad reaction to Bactrim after being on it for 15 days (an itch all over like bugs were crawling all over my body, very painful stiff neck, itchy mouth, breathing issues, stuffy nose, headaches) . I began to wonder if I have a problem with sulfites espcieally because I'm Asthmatic. I also wondered why doctors aren't looking into different ways to treat us when we are ill instead of killing both bad with the GOOD bacteria in our body. I found out this lowers your immunity. That good bacteria is our health and immunity. However, if we kill those how can it defend our body? Interesting things I am turning up while researching for myself. I am thinking about starting to make my own Kefir and fermented vegetables so I may add back healthy bacteria into my body. I also found something called GAPS diet (on You Tube) and I think I may look into trying it. I put that all out to see if anyone has any information to share in regards to all these things. Thanks  :-)

Sulfites and sulfa drugs are not the same thing. It is possible to be allergic to sulfa and have no trouble with sulfites, and vise versa.
