Is it true that having bananas regularly can cause obesity and pounds that cannot be shed easily? I have always known it to be very beneficial for the body but now I think I was wrong. What do you think about it? Any replies please.

I think a dietician would be the best to ask. I do know bananas have healthy carbohydrates. I just personally lost 100lbs, by getting off of a medication, prednisone and eating healthy, walking daily. Sorry I cant be much help...

Bananas have a lot of carbs. Calories seem to range from 105 calories for a small one to 135 for an 8 - 9 inch one. It may make a difference what type of banana you eat too. In addition to the usual yellow ones there are little red ones, the big ones for cooking we called platanos in Mexico, and lots more.

As far as diet food it's like eating potatoes.

Thank you all for the valuable replies. So that means that bananas have high cars and are very rich in calories it is better to avoid them when you are planning to lose weight and avoid high calorie food items.

My secret for losing weight is avoiding anything processed, bread and other wheat flour products, and sodas.
