I made the mistake Saturday of taking my dogs for a very short walk. By the time I got back to the car I was wheezing.

Since I rarely need it, my rescue inhaler was 50 miles away at home... :(

Mine travels with me always and during allergy season I make sure to have some benadryl in my purse too.

I just posted a note to stereofidelic about my allergy shots. I don't have symptoms anymore.

PS: Wash the pollen off your car immediately. It can damage the finish!

I'm allergic to allergy shots. My allergist said it's too risky for me.

I have had hives & facial swelling (especially my lips) periodically over 2 years. In the last 4 months it started happening more & more frequently. Finally they were constant and will not go away.

I went to allergist. He had me get blood drawn to see if I had any autoimmune disease. Turns out I have Hashimoto thyroid which is an autoimmune disease that attacks the thyroid. I am currently taking Clarifying, Allegra,Zyrtec everyday which do nothing. I have Prednisone for when it gets really bad but that doesn't help either.

I am seeing a DO for the Hasimoto's. He started me on a low dose thyroid med called thyroid plus. Has not helped yet. I go back today for follow up. Hopefully be will put me on stronger thyroid med that could help. I also cut out gluten, force, and limit my sugar intake. Also taking high dose of Omega 3, vitamin D, magnesium, and vitamin C. I have had digestive problems for awhile so I am wondering if it could be yeast in stomach or leaky gut. I have taken prohibitive on & off but I think you have to be consistent for a long time. I will do follow up post when I see my doctor.

"couchtater, I'm allergic to allergy shots. My allergist said it's too risky for me." ~ this is too bad , too much allergy :(

rustichealthy, my doctor friend told me with recent studies that Vit C intake doesn't actually help cure colds and flu and taking high dosage wont help either so watch what you take. just try the natural way of treating asthma colds and flu... like taking lots of liquids and filtering the air you breath, avoiding dust, danders and pollen which triggers asthma..but neither I have to research about it, the vit C intake :)

Hello Dred, thank you, and I appreciate your concern, but, I've been doing it for years. I do have a "cold protocol" of Vit C 1000, apple cider vinegar, honey and cinnamon. Taking them at very first signs of cold or flu has stopped them in minutes usually, though a flu did take an hour. Vit C with Omega 3s in a fish oil supplement helped many times stopping asthma attacks as well. Much better than inhalers imo, so I kind of :) at the comparison and warnings of vitamins to drugs and steroids. Going organic has helped as well, and have not needed any medication or inhaler for a long time now. Sorry, this is a year later not reading your reply til now.

I don't know what is getting to me. Maybe molds...we in THE GREAT NORTHEAST had an average temp of 12 during February and it was too cold to snow. Weird, tellmeaboutit.

Anywho had to go on prnesizone in January, then February was too cold to speak off, after that we have wonderful March. Maybe those molds are heating up during our torrid tropical days of a high of 50.

OTOH, maybe I picked up another virus. I WANT TO KNOW WHY I CAN'T PICK UP A HANDSOME MAN OR A MILLION DOLLARS INSTEAD of these meanold viruses.

Will go and cuddle up with my virus now, hope the molds do not burst through too much and wish you all a good night.
