smhair I was just diagnosed with SLE lupus last week,
I keep seeing posts about rash and itching and want to see if what I have been feeling the last 2 days is caused from lupus or if I should look elsewhere.
I have no rash but I feel like I am being bitten all over my body.It itches as does my head..Not head lice I checked( retired from lice hunter) but that is what my head feels like.
The biting sensation is all over my body like stinging bites.I am all scratched up from scratching.
Driving my husband nuts keep saying look something is biting me, he see's nothing.
I'm going nuts.
Looking forward to your response.

Have you tried posting this in the lupus forum on here,y ou need to make a lists of this so you can go over it with your lupus/RA doctor at your next office visit.
Did you just start a new medication for the lupus as it could be a reaction to the medication so a call into your doctors office might provide better results for you...So call the doctor that's treating your Lupus as soon as possible...and you can check out allergic reactions to medications on to check the list and see if it's a possible allergic reaction...Many Many well wishes and keep us posted as we do care...
* So many dx's I could write a book* "It would be nice if we could use the edit button in real life"...

Lupus can cause neurological symptoms. This sounds like parasthesias, which can be neurological in origin.
